Annual General Meeting

The annual general meeting is an event keenly awaited by the alumni members and students. Right from 1982, this event is held on August 15, our Independence Day,at the school of industrial fisheries. Members from various batches flock to the school, exchange pleasantries, revive their friendship and pay their respects to their teachers. For the students at the school this is a rare occasion to interact, hear and learn from their seniors about the job prospects and experiences. There is a formal annual general meeting followed by a lunch for the students and alumni. It is heartening to say that the students make all necessary arrangements for this event and they are also invited to participate in the sessions other than those which are strictly confined to alumni like presentation of accounts, election of office bearers of the alumni, discussion on the future plans of the alumni. A noted personality will always be the chief guest of the day, along with the Director of the School of Industrial Fisheries. Faculty members of the present and past will be there to talk to the students.

During the last Annual General Meeting, Mr. Anwar Hashim, President , Seafood Exporters Association of India was the chief guest. The President delivered an interesting talk on the history of the seafood industry from its early days and on the various practical aspects of running an export oriented seafood industry.

The AGM had a very interesting session on BODY LANGUAGE, which was appreciated by all. Members got practical insights on the body language suited to various situations.
